Find the Rhythm
The Rhythms of Grace (Day 1) // Prayer365
Yesterday we attempted to share a message titled The Rhythms of Grace. Due to various technical challenges we experienced limited success in sharing the message so I’ve decided to use this topic as the theme for this week’s time of devotion and prayer.
Rhythm is the aspect of music that contains the elements such as tempo, accent and meter, that relate to forward movement. Rhythm is the driving force of music, the purpose of rhythm is to keep the song moving forward. However, rhythm is not only found in music but if we were to look around, we’d find that all of creation has a rhythm. In fact, I believe that we are all participants in the symphony of God, countless persons playing different notes and patterns, carrying out different assignments but joined together to create the glorious song called the Will of God.
On this journey to knowing God, forming an intimate relationship with Him, we must start by learning how He works. All of creation should show us that God works in rhythm, the rhythm of purpose. It’s our goal to learn this rhythm so that we might grow in our knowledge of Him and submit ourselves to becoming instruments of His purpose. But where do we start? We must begin by Finding the Rhythm.
In Jeremiah 29:11-13, God reveals that there’s a plan for our lives, a life song that He’s written for us to live out. A song that’s meant to prosper us and not harm us. Prosperity is the condition of being successful or thriving. It is a sign of rhythm, forward movement. To prosper is not simply having money, instead prosperity is defined by growth. It’s very possible to have money and not be prosperous, to have money and not grow. God is calling us out of stagnation into the forward movement of growth, the rhythms of His grace. But this rhythm is not something that just comes, nor is it easily found. We discover the rhythm of God by seeking His face through prayer with all our heart. Yes, all. We can no longer get by with a half-hearted attempt when God is calling us to thryve with a wholehearted pursuit. I believe that when you find Him, you will find His rhythm. And a sign of this will be the restoration of your hope and a new perspective of your future. Find Him. Find the rhythm. The Rhythm of Grace.
