The Road to Righteousness

"Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled." — Matthew 5:6 NIV

"But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well." — Matthew 6:33 NIV

One of the essential qualities of the mature believer is righteousness—more specifically, the righteousness of God. We are first made righteous by faith in Jesus. We are then required to live righteously, filled with the character of God. One thing I’ve learned in life is that developing a righteous lifestyle is a journey. On that journey, there are principles and lessons we must learn along the way to guide us along the way. This week’s theme for our daily devotion and prayer is titled “The Road to Righteousness.” Each day we will identify one of five keys to righteous living.
